Yes we have been "Missing In Action" this past year and a half. We'd like to claim that we took the time off from playing gigs so we could "work on new material" or "hunker down in the studio laying down tracks" but that just is not true. It's been over a year since we have performed a gig. We have been practicing and learning new cover tunes however. We've asked ourselves: "what's the point in practicing" if we're not going to perform gigs? The answer is pretty simple. It's still fun. We have a lot of fun even at practice with no goals in sight. It's not that we don't want to do any gigs. We just haven't tried very hard this past year. Maybe we got burned out. Maybe other things have taken priority. Maybe we want and expect MORE of a quality gig than quantity since we're not in it for the money anyway. This Fall 2009 will be nine years that we have been a band. We have had plenty of peaks and valleys as a band. We're not getting any younger !! We pretty much agreed we have to at least make it to our ten year anniversary. We do actually have a gig Saturday August 1st in Inver Grove Heights at the "Moose Lodge". It's a private wedding reception / party deal for one of Pete's neighbors so we haven't told too many people. We expect it to go well. We're hoping that after this gig we'll get back into some sort of routine and start playing out more frequently. Time will tell.
